MetaMask is an Ethereum browser extension that enables users to view the blockchain in their browser without leaving their web page. The extension allows the user perform Ethereum transactions within their browser.

How does it work?

MetaMask adds Ethereum’s Javascript API to any website. The extension can read information stored in the Blockchain when you visit a web page. The information includes the Ethereum addresses and associated balances, the Ethereum address of each wallet, the balance of the contract address, and the number of transactions performed.

As soon as a user signs up, a wallet is created in the user’s MetaMask client and the user can move tokens between addresses, make transfers and withdrawals, and move funds between wallets.
